IRVINE, Calif. USA 2/19/08 -- Bringing premium sports apparel and footwear to its offering of industry-leading cycling and fishing products, Shimano has completed its purchase of DashAmerica, Inc. (dba Pearl Izumi USA, Inc.) from Nautilus, Inc., announces David Pfeiffer, president of Shimano American Corporation. Pearl Izumi becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Shimanos U.S. operations, and will continue to operate from its facilities in Broomfield, Colorado and Kirchzarten, Germany. The acquisition brings together two companies started by Japanese families who share a passion for cycling, said Pfeiffer. Mostly sealed trail roads, around 10Km of dirt/gravel and 10Km of travel along Nepean Highway. A trail follows Beach Rd all the way to the city, taking the Southbank trail which follows the 109 Tram route and then along Southbank up to the Arts Centre and crossing the bridge back to the starting location, Flinders Street Train Station. On May 28 the curtain goes up on the 8th annual edition of the Bicycle Film Festival with a five-day run in New York City. From there it takes off on a seven-month tour of the US, Europe, Australia and Asia before landing in Portland in December for this year's final show. There's more to these events than films about people riding their bicycles. We're talking parties, bands, art shows and more parties. But at its heart this festival is about bicycling films. The New York City program shows sessions that encompass everything from animated shorts, 5-minute films about bike advocates to feature-length documentaries such as Adventures for the Cure(see trailer above). ...
